Blind Trip
Project type
Short
Can you discern reality from the dream?
Blind Trip brings an intense physically sensible experience and is set up in a cruel world in which extreme brutality and violence is normal. But whose world is it? Is this world just merely a hallucination, an illusion; is it in the mind? Where do hallucinations come from? From memory? Maybe triggered by our senses? Does it inherently come from reality then, or not? Is what you experience with Blind Trip someone's memory, hallucination and reality combined? Or just maybe only one of those apart? Isn't this what perception is? Do you feel Blind Trip? Whose world will this become? Will you remember it? Will you add it to your own memory even though it is maybe just a dream? And anyway.. what did you see? What did he see? Can he see? Can he shoot while he is blind? Or did he become blind later, or even earlier?
For one viewer Blind Trip will become one of his many memories that he can't understand, but did experience; comparable to the effect of a dream itself. For other viewer Blind Trip equals questions; questions about reality. The movie only provides experiences to the viewer, no storyline. Those experiences could be real in the fictional dystopic world, but could be an illusion as well. Apart from being real or not being so, it is crucial for the construction of the reality to shift or order multiple aspects in timeline, or not doing so and accepting the chronology as is. This all causes different reality
to emerge. Blind Trip is a puzzle about reality and a puzzle about the construction of reality on a meta level. Depending on ones drive to find reality in this dream and depending on his convictions about the
experiences in general, the viewer can find up to eight plausible "realities" in Blind Trip. On a meta level Blind Trip is a story about perception.
